About The Metro Bowler
The Metro Bowler is a bowling newspaper for the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro Area as well as out-state Minnesota. It was started in September 1975 as a weekly tabloid and has maintained its presence ever since. The 2022-2023 season marks The Metro Bowler’s 48th Anniversary!
The Metro Bowler is one of only three weekly bowling newspapers ‘in print’ left in the United States! Most of those newspaper are no long in business but The Metro Bowler is still going strong!
A Side Note: Did you know if you stacked every paper printed in the last 47 years (47 years x 35 weeks x 10,000 copies) and covered the Minnesota Vikings home field at U.S. Bank Stadium the papers would be 150 feet tall! That’s 15 stories of solid bowling news! The Metro Bowler is proud to have most of the old papers recycled, too!
